Xiaomi is said to have commenced the rollout of its latest HyperOS 1.5 update for a select group of smartphones. The update, which brings along the August security patch, is expected to introduce new features, performance enhancements, and bug fixes.
While the update is currently available for the China-only Xiaomi 14 series, Redmi K70 series, and other models, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be gradually rolled out to other regions and devices in the coming months.
Key features expected with HyperOS 1.5:
- Enhanced lock screen customization: Users can reportedly personalize their lock screen with a new “Long press lock screen to edit style” option.
- Improved system fluidity: The update promises smoother app responsiveness and overall better performance.
- Optimized smartphone experience: Xiaomi aims to elevate daily interactions with its devices through this update.
Rollout timeline and eligible devices:
The HyperOS 1.5 update is currently live in China for the Xiaomi 14 series, Redmi K70 series, and Redmi K60 Extreme Edition. Additional Chinese models including the Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, and Redmi Turbo 3 are expected to receive the update in the coming weeks.
Globally, the update is slated for a wider release in September, with devices like the Redmi Note 12 4G, POCO M5, Redmi 11 Prime 4G, Redmi Note 13, Redmi Pad SE, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Redmi Note 11, and Redmi Pad on the list.
Xiaomi is also reportedly working on HyperOS 2.0, which is expected to bring even more advanced features, including hidden camera detection.
