The Xiaomi 15 series is set to debut at the end of October, with a launch event confirmed for October 29 at 7:00 PM local time in China. The highly anticipated series will showcase Xiaomi latest flagship smartphones, including the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which was unveiled at the recent Snapdragon Summit. Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to launch later in 2025.
The Xiaomi 15 series brings several improvements, including a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate for the Xiaomi 15. The Pro model could feature a larger 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED display with similar refresh rate, and both models will have IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. These devices will continue Xiaomi partnership with Leica, with a triple 50MP rear camera setup including telephoto and ultra-wide lenses. Battery life also sees upgrades, with a 5,500mAh battery for the Xiaomi 15, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The phones will debut with Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, offering improved AI-powered features. Global availability is expected after the China launch, with a potential release in India around March 2024. Prices are expected to rise compared to the Xiaomi 14 series, possibly by Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
The series will compete with other Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered devices such as the OnePlus 13 and Asus ROG Phone 9, both launching soon. Xiaomi’s innovations like HyperCore technology, designed to optimize performance and reduce power consumption, further position the Xiaomi 15 series as a premium flagship contender for 2024.
