The Samsung W25 series is set to be a standout in the Chinese market, following the brand’s tradition of releasing foldables under the W-series, which are often more luxurious versions of the Z-series models. Unlike the standard models, the W-series typically features premium design elements, larger storage capacities, and enhanced RAM to cater to local preferences, along with an upscale retail package that includes accessories like chargers and cases, which are often missing from the Z-series packages.

The upcoming Samsung W25 will be based on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, currently exclusive to South Korea. This special model will feature larger displays compared to the regular Z Fold6, with a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch internal display (compared to 6.3 inches and 7.6 inches, respectively, on the Z Fold6). Additionally, the W25 will include a 200MP main camera, replacing the 50MP camera on the Z Fold6. However, it will not support the S Pen.

In terms of design, the W25 sports a sleek black color with golden highlights along the metal frame and camera bump, adding a touch of elegance. The sides also feature a patterned finish, offering a different feel from the usual smooth metal found on the Z Fold series.

For the clamshell foldable, Samsung will launch the W25 Flip, which is based on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6. Unlike the W25 Fold, the W25 Flip doesn’t have a Special Edition counterpart but follows the same pattern of luxury design.

In terms of pricing, Samsung China also sells the regular Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 models, with the W24 (last year’s model) currently priced at CNY 13,000 for the 16GB/1TB variant, while the Z Fold6 starts at CNY 14,000 for 12GB/512GB and CNY 16,000 for the 12GB/1TB version. The W-series foldables are typically more expensive, but they offer benefits like extra RAM and enhanced packaging with accessories such as chargers and cases, which are absent from the standard Z-series packages.
