Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra may be more expensive than the S24 Ultra for one very simple reason. According to a new rumor out of China, the S25 Ultra’s bill of materials (BoM) is “at least” $110 more than the S24 Ultra.
The source says phone makers are primarily interested in profit margins, meaning the S25 Ultra will be more expensive to cover the cost difference in many regions around the world. However, the price in China should remain the same, due to the tough competition there.

Of course this is just an unconfirmed rumor at this point, but if the BOM of the S25 Ultra is $110+ higher than its predecessor, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if Samsung tried to at least partially pass this on to buyers .
Interestingly, Samsung is recently rumored to have cut some costs in the display technology of the S25 family. But perhaps this only applies to other members of the line. The S25 devices should go official in January, either much earlier or at the end of the month.
