Amazon may launch quick commerce platform codenamed ‘Tez’ to take on Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart

While the reliance on instant commerce platforms has already increased in the country with the rise of platforms like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto and more, leading tech giant Amazon is preparing to launch its instant commerce delivery platform soon.

The company has not yet disclosed details, but a media report hinted at the same, and the venture will mark the company’s foray into instant delivery services. Here are the expected details of Amazon’s yet-to-be-announced upcoming venture.

Amazon Quick Commerce Delivery Platform Details

• quoting sources a report By The Economic Times says Amazon India is preparing to announce its instant commerce delivery service in the country.
• The codename for Instant Commerce Delivery Platform is FastHowever, its final name has not been decided yet and is expected to be Go live by late December or early 2025,
• Amazon India’s delivery platform will compete with instant delivery services like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto.
• According to the report, this sector has recently recorded gross sales of 5.5-6 billion dollars i.e. about Rs 49,800 crore in November 2024.
• The report also states that Amazon India is hiring new employees for its accelerated commerce project.
• Apart from using its own delivery network, the company is also collaborating with other logistics providers to enable quicker delivery services.

Notably, Amazon India has not shared any details regarding this matter. However, it is reported that the matter is going to be discussed during the next monthly review meeting in the first week of December. The discussion will take place ahead of Amazon’s annual Sambhav event.

Apart from platforms like Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart, Flipkart recently launched its instant commerce service, Minutes. The service has since expanded to operate in major cities across the country.
