Redmi A4 5G (Review) is the latest budget device from the brand which is priced at just Rs 8,499 in India. The phone offers good value for its price and competes against the Tecno Spark 30C (Review), which is another solid budget phone priced at Rs 9,999. Redmi A4 comes with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, while the Tecno phone is equipped with Dimensity 6300 processor. Both these budget chipsets show similar performance output but which device performs better?
To find which one performs better, we compared performance and put both these phones through testing including benchmarks and real-world tests. For benchmark tests, we use popular tools like AnTuTu and Geekbench to measure overall performance. We also tested each phone’s sustained peak performance using the Burnout benchmark app. We conclude the comparison with a gaming test where we measure the average FPS and track temperature changes during gameplay.
Decision:
Tecno Spark 30C won the comparison as it offers better gaming performance, more efficient thermal regulation, and higher performance output under throttling. So, if you are looking for a device with solid performance at an affordable price, the Tecno Spark 30C offers better value for money.
Redmi A4 vs Tecno Spark 30C performance comparison at a glance:
tests | winner |
geekbench benchmark | tie |

geekbench
Geekbench measures how fast a processor performs certain tasks. The faster the processor, the higher the score.
geekbench single-core | geekbench multi-core
Redmi A4 | 840 | 1963 |
techno spark 30c | 723 | 1941 |
Looking at the Geekbench scores, you will see that there is no significant difference between the two. The single-core performance of the Redmi A4 is about 14 percent better than that of the Tecno Spark 30C, but such a difference will not exist in real-world usage. Since both the phones have equal benchmark scores the round ended in a tie.
Real World Context: While the better single-core score may indicate better performance on some tasks, you won’t really notice it when you use both phones. The regular daily performance of both the devices is at par with each other.
Winner: tie
AnTuTu
AnTuTu tests the overall speed of the smartphone in relation to the processor. Higher scores mean faster, better device performance.
AnTuTu Score | |
Redmi A4 | 3,81,047 |
techno spark 30c | 4,18,173 |
The AnTuTu scores of both the devices are very close to each other, with the Tecno Spark 30C showing about 10 percent better results. Although the latter has a better score, the difference is not significant enough to affect day-to-day performance to the point that you can distinguish between them.
Real World Context:The difference in benchmark scores of both the phones is not much, so the performance output of both the devices will be almost equal. In everyday use.
Winner: tie
cpu throttle
CPU Throttle checks if the smartphone’s CPU slows down during heavy usage. The higher the score, the better the efficiency.

Redmi A4 | 53.1 percent |
techno spark 30c | 64.9 percent |
Processor stability is quite important if you perform demanding tasks frequently. Budget phones aren’t designed for heavy workloads, but it’s still important to know if they can perform when needed. As expected, the peak performance of the Redmi A4 is halved under heavy load, while the Tecno device does a slightly better job in comparison.
Real World Context: Playing demanding games is one of the easiest ways to put a strain on a smartphone’s processor. if you play gamesOften, you will notice better gaming performance with the Tecno Spark 30C due to higher stability, while the Redmi A4 may show more frame drops or freezes in comparison.
Winner: techno spark 30c
gaming performance
We tested the phone’s gaming performance by playing demanding games like BGMI, COD: Mobile (Call of Duty), and Real Racing 3 for 30 minutes and measuring their average FPS and temperature rise. Here’s how the phones performed.
Average FPS while gaming
Redmi A4 | 43.5 |
techno spark 30c | 46 |
The Tecno Spark 30C offers better gaming performance than the Redmi A4, delivering around 3-4FPS more in each title. So, if you want a better gaming experience, then Tecno Spark 30C is suitable for you. Regarding device thermals, the Redmi A4 gets quite hot while gaming, while the Tecno Spark 30C runs relatively cool.
Total rise in temperature after playing games for 90 minutes
Redmi A4 | 29.2 degrees Celsius |
techno spark 30c | 18.9 degrees Celsius |
