• The Meta-owned platform has launched a new typing indicator feature to improve real-time communication in chats.
• With this update, when someone starts typing in a group or one-on-one chat, users will get a visual “…” prompt at the bottom of the screen along with their profile picture.
• Specifically, it will complement the existing typing indicator visible in the top banner.
• The feature makes it easier for users to identify who is typing in a conversation and is now available for iOS and Android users.
• It is worth noting that this feature was initially announced for select beta testers in October.

On the other hand, the messaging platform recently announced a voice message transcription feature that converts audio messages into text by processing the audio locally on the user’s device after the message is downloaded.

This feature allows users to read the content of voice messages, making it useful when listening to audio is not possible. Initially, it will support a limited number of languages, with plans to expand language support in the coming months.
