
Bharti Airtel has introduced two new voice and SMS-only prepaid plans in India. These new prepaid plans have been introduced after TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) last month ordered telecom operators in the country to provide more choices to consumers (more on that below).
Apart from introducing new voice and SMS-only plans, Airtel has also increased the price of its Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 prepaid plans.
Airtel prepaid plan of Rs 499
- Airtel has introduced a prepaid plan of Rs 499 for its customers. This plan offers Unlimited local, STD and roaming calls with 900 SMSComes with a validity of 84 days.
- Apart from calling and SMS benefits, the new Rs 499 plan also offers free HelloTunes for one month and Apollo24|7 Circle subscription for three months at no additional cost.
- Earlier this plan was priced at Rs 509 and offered customers 6GB data along with Airtel Xstream app benefits. report As stated by TelecomTalk.
Airtel’s Rs 1,959 plan
- Similarly, the telecom giant has also upgraded its Rs 1,999 prepaid plan. The updated plan is priced at Rs 1,959 and comes with 365 days validity,
- Apart from this, it also offers a prepaid plan of Rs 1,959. Unlimited local, STD and roaming calls with 3600 SMS,
- Other benefits included in this plan include three months of Apollo24|7 Circle subscription and the ability to set one Hellotune per month for free.
- The report says that the old Rs 1,999 plan offered 24GB data along with Airtel Xstream app benefits.

Airtel’s Rs 548 plan
According to reports, Airtel has increased the price of its Rs 509 prepaid plan. Now its price is Rs 548. This plan comes with validity 84 days and it offers 7GB data with 900 SMS and unlimited local, STD and roaming callsAdditionally, this plan offers a free three-month Apollo 24|7 Circle subscription at no additional cost and the ability to set one Hellotune per month.
Airtel’s Rs 2,249 plan
Airtel has also increased the price of its Rs 1,999 plan. It is now priced at Rs 2,249 and offers 30GB data along with 3,600 SMS and unlimited voice calls. With this plan you get validity of 365 days. Other benefits include three months of free Apollo 24|7 Circle subscription and one free Hellotune per month.
TRAI’s December 2024 mandate
- As mentioned earlier, these plans have been introduced in response to TRAI’s order that required telecom operators to provide more choices to customers.
- The organization said in its order dated December 23, 2024, wrote Telecom operators need to provide special tariff vouchers with voice and SMS benefits so that they pay only for the services they need, especially to elderly customers and people living in remote areas.
- The Government Order has increased the validity limit for Special Tariff Vouchers and Combo Vouchers from 90 days to 365 days.
