Stephen King once said, “books are a uniquely portable magic.” He used this phrase to emphasize how books can take readers in different times, places and life. Amazon may argue that it carried the line with the Kindle quite literally – a portable device that is capable of carrying thousands of books. I still own a ten -year 7th genes Kindle Pepperwite, which has completed many, many sessions, so naturally, I was more excited about the launch of the new Kindle Paperwite in India (priced at Rs 16,999).
2024 12th General Kindle Pepperwater is now available in India, and it claims a large screen, the highest opposite ratio ever on a kindle, slimmer bezels, sharp page turns, and more. I used the daily device for two straight weeks, read through a couple of very compelling e-books, and satisfied the other side completely.
design
After the installation of the Kindle, the first thing that is that the new 7-inch display is-the largest on a paperwite. It is slightly larger than a 6.8 -inch display on the 2021 model and a full inch larger than my 2014 Kindle Peppervit. This growth was made possible by dropping bezels even further. While the kindle still has relatively thick bezels, I would argue that they are necessary to catch the device without your fingers or the palm accidentally to touch the screen.
The kindle remains thin and light, two important factors that make it comfortable to catch for extended reading sessions. It weighs 211 grams (nothing for reference the phone 3A Pro) measures 7.8 mm in thickness (diluted as iPhone 16).

I tried to complete my readings during my metro ride and from office, and I could easily hold the new kindle paperwite with one hand during the entire journey. As Oscar Wilde said once, “There must always be some sensational to read in the train.”
While I still like to read physical books at home, the kindle is absolutely spectacular to read, especially on the bus or train, where you do not have to struggle with turning the pages while putting hands on the rail for support. The second time Kindle is useful to me, sleeping with lights while sleeping.
Display
Coming for reading experience-which is all-7-inch screen is excellent on the ninth kindle paperwite. The backlit display provides sufficient glow, even when you are studying out in the sun directly. I usually set the brightness for midpoint and there was no problem in reading under the harsh summer sun in Delhi. It is even better that there is an anti-glare screen, which ensures that there are no disturbing reflections to get you out of your reading experience.

Kindle introduced the adjustable warm light feature in 2021 peppervite, and the latest model takes it forward. You can manually adjust both glow and hot light levels by swiping the top of the screen to reach the display control. There is also an option to switch between light and dark mode depending on your environment. I usually keep light mode during the day and switch to dark mode at night, especially when I squeeze something just before bed.
The 7 -inch display definitely looks good, allowing more readable text on the screen. When I place my individual kindle paperwhest next to the new, the difference is noticeable.

Should Amazon have gone for a large screen and slimmer bezel? Sure. A major performance in the same footprint is always welcome. But only for the device designed to read books, the 7 -inch screen is quite sufficient in my opinion. And as I have mentioned earlier, Bezels serve a purpose: they give your palm or fingers place to rest without interfering with the screen.
features
Waterproof
One of the most practical features of Kindle Pepperwite 12th gene is its IPX8 waterproof rating, which means that it can withstand fresh water to be submerged up to 2 meters for 60 minutes. Whether you are studying by the pool, in a bath, or during your sudden decline during your movement, you do not have to worry about water splashes or drops on the device.

Thrown light on
Highlighting the kindle works the same as it is on a physical book. Just press and press a word or sentence to highlight it, and the kindle will save it for a latter reference. You can also take notes, see definitions, or even translate words. For a person who enjoys learning or revision of a favorite path, it is a spontaneous and spontaneous feature that enriches the reading experience. He said, highlighting the lines was not always the most smooth, as I noticed lags and touch reaction issues.

Read theme
The recent software is introduced in updates, the reading theme allows you to easily personalize the form of your lesson. Now you can choose from a preset like “compact,” “standard,” or “large” that adjust the font size, weight, line vacancy and margin at one go. If you do not feel any of the preset, you can also create your own custom theme. This is a thoughtful feature that accepts how personal the reading act is actually.
Book cover as lock screen
This may look like a small thing, but the ability to set your current book cover because your lock screen goes a long way to feel the kindle like a real book. Every time you pick up the device, you are reminded of the story in which you are immersed. This is a simple view cue that increases immersion and feels less like a gadget to the kindle and is more like a book. He said, this is not a new facility because my 7th gene kindle paperwet also has facilities.

Display

Under the hood, the dual-core processor promotes noticeable in speed. Amazon claims that the page is 25 percent faster, which seems to be true, as I notice the quickness and lubrication of the page, especially when the pages bends to check fast. Navigating through the library or kindle store seems much more responsible than my old kindle, making it more exciting to read books on it than before. While you still scroll through the Kindle Library can feel some gaps, adjust the brightness, highlight a line, and similarly, the overall response, especially when twisting the page, feels flashy.

Of course, one should not expect smartphone-level accountability and performance. The kindle is mainly designed to read and browse through a huge library of books. Its performance seems right to read, although there is a place to improve when talking about navigating the library.
battery life
The new Kindle is a papperwite’s battery lifestyle. I can finish this section there, but it helps explain what actually means in practice. During the test, the battery fell by just 2 percent as a result of an one -hour reading session with brightness for midpoints. In fact, I unboxed the device at 44 percent, and after using daily for about an hour, I still was at 26 percent throughout the week.
Amazon claims that the kindle may last up to 12 weeks on a charge, and depending on my experience, it does not seem distant. Of course, the battery life you get depends on your reading habits. If you are someone who reads for a few hours during day and night, you will probably dry the battery well before three months.
The 30-minute charge batteries using 65W GAN charger took the battery from 20 to 55 percent-an increase of 35 percent-which is easily enough for a month or more depending on your reading habits.
Decision
“A reader lives a thousand lives before dying. The man who never reads remains only one.”
, George RR Martin
Line by game of Thrones The author catchs the essence of what Amazon enables with Kindle. The 12th gene kindle paperwart makes those thousand life easier and convenient than ever. As is someone who loves reading, but struggles to find the time between the stir of work, the new kindle re -awakened (intended to punish!) My reading habit of taking it during my daily traffic and being easy to use.
7-Inch’s large displays, excellent battery life, waterproof design and adjustable warm lights, reading themes, and option to display your current book cover on the lock screen, with thoughtful features, the new paperwite seems to be like polished development of the favorite device already. Performance and better accountability are worth noting, although the UI still has space to improve, especially when navigating the Kindle store or highlighting the text.
For Rs 16,999, Kindle Pepperwit is an expensive e-reader. Unfortunately, Amazon does not sell basic kindle in the country, meaning that Pepperwit is officially available. If you can grab it with a bank offer or discount during the sale of Amazon, it is a meaningful investment for anyone that regularly reads and wants a reliable, immersive and portable reading partner.
