Apple iPhone prices in India have dropped following a recent customs duty cut announced in the Union Budget 2024. The Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, announced a 15% reduction in the customs duty on phones and chargers. As a result, Apple has reduced prices across its entire iPhone lineup by 3-4%, offering significant savings, especially on Pro models.
Experts have noticed a big change in Apple’s pricing strategy. It’s the first time Apple has lowered the cost of its Pro models in India. This shift follows a reduction in the basic customs charge on mobile phones from 20% to 15%.
Typically, Apple discontinues older Pro models when new ones come out. Retailers then offer small discounts to clear out old stock. But this change in customs charges has led Apple to rethink its approach, setting a new trend for pricing Pro models.
According to reports from the Economic Times, Apple has already updated its official website in India to reflect the new prices. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models have seen the largest price cuts, up to ₹6,000. In comparison, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus received smaller discounts of ₹300.
Here are the new prices for all iPhone models available on Apple’s official Indian website:
Model | Old Price | New Price |
---|---|---|
iPhone SE | ₹49,900 | ₹47,600 |
iPhone 13 | ₹59,900 | ₹59,600 |
iPhone 14 | ₹69,900 | ₹69,600 |
iPhone 14 Plus | ₹79,900 | ₹79,600 |
iPhone 15 | ₹79,900 | ₹79,600 |
iPhone 15 Plus | ₹89,900 | ₹89,600 |
iPhone 15 Pro | ₹1,34,900 | ₹1,29,800 |
iPhone 15 Pro Max | ₹1,59,900 | ₹1,54,000 |
This price drop is a great opportunity for anyone looking to buy an iPhone Pro model. With the new customs duty cut, now is an excellent time to get your favorite iPhone at a lower price!
