Google Pixel 9a alleged live image leak shows redesigned camera module

Alleged renders of the Google Pixel 9a surfaced online in October. These images suggest that the rear camera module may finally see a new design. Instead of a large horizontal camera bar on the Pixel 9 series, we may get a small oval-shaped layout for the rear camera sensor. Months later, alleged live images of the Pixel 9a have now leaked online and show a similar design.

• It appears that the phone has a boxy chassis With rounded corners for good grip.
• Moving to the back, there is a pill/oval shaped module towards the left edge, which houses dual camera sensors. There is an LED flash next to the layout.
• The back panel looks like this unique pattern design And a different logo instead of the Google logo.
• Moving on from the design, there is a sticker on the rear panel of the Pixel 9a that reads ‘EVT‘, which means an engineering verification test tool.
• The sticker also contains the IMEI number of the phone. Feeding the number into the IMEI database shows it is a Google device with the model number GTF7P,

• It is unclear whether this is simply a prototype unit or representative of the final product.

Google Pixel 9a: What do we know so far?

The specifications and price of Google Pixel 9a have recently been leaked online.

• Display:The upcoming Pixel phone is said to feature a 6.3-inch display with a 60-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. In comparison, the Pixel 8a had a 6.1-inch screen.
• processor: The Google Pixel 9a may be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset, just like the Pixel 9 lineup. This will be an upgrade to the Pixel 8a, which has Tensor G3.
• Battery: The handset is said to pack a 5000mAh battery with 18W wired and 7.5W wireless charging. The Pixel 8a has a 4492mAh cell.
• Memory: It may have 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options, just like the Pixel 8a.
• camera:The Pixel 9a is said to have the same 48MP sensor as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Pixel 8a has a 64MP main sensor.
• The handset may get IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. This is an upgrade from the Pixel 8a’s IP67 rating.

As for price, the Google Pixel 9a will reportedly be priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 42,300). For comparison, the Pixel 8a launched in India at a starting price of Rs 52,999. The Pixel 9a is rumored to launch in March 2025, which is slightly ahead of the usual May timeline. The phone should also come to India like Pixel 8a.
