Chinese smartphone maker Huawei launched several new products in the country, including Huawei Mate 70 series, Mate X6 foldable and MatePad ProThese devices will run the company’s own HarmonyOS Next OS, which is said to offer a number of interesting features including a gesture-driven file transfer feature. The newly introduced Huawei devices also feature AI Gesture AirDrop technology, powered by HarmonyOS NEXT OS. This feature uses the Always-On camera to enhance device interactions, facilitating content sharing through air gestures.
Notably, Apple devices offer similar functionality, where users have to physically touch the screen to capture and move content between devices. It’s unknown whether Huawei’s new gesture-controlled feature will require users to log into the same account on both devices for file transfers.

The Huawei Mate 70 series consists of three phones, the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro and Mate 70 Pro+, with prices starting at CNY 5,499 (roughly Rs. 64,000) and going up to CNY 12,999 (roughly Rs. 1,51,490). Meanwhile, the Huawei Mate X6 foldable phone has a starting price of CNY 12,999.

- In terms of features, the vanilla Mate 70 sports a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. It is worth noting that the display size of other variants is different.
- While the vanilla variant is equipped with a Kirin 9010 SoC, the Huawei Mate 70 Pro and Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ have a Kirin 9020.
