JBL Tune Beam 2 Review: A Well Gol Package

JBL is a name that is mostly familiar with us, and is known for its audio products, which are spread over various sub-grains and price segments. Tune Beam 2 is one of its latest TWS Prasad, coming as a mid-price contender who packs considerably in terms of features and abilities. Here is how it is in real life.

Design and comfort

JBL Tune Beam 2 01
JBL Tune Beam 2 comes in a solidly manufactured case with a smooth matte finish. The case is flat on the back, but sports a round shape on the front and sides. The front carries a JBL logo and three LEDs that indicate the position of the battery, the back side bears the words “Tune Beam 2”, and below is the home of a type-C port. While the design cannot change the head, the case is compact and can easily slide inside the pocket. While my review unit came in black, you can choose it in white or blue.

Opening the lid reveals the buds inside, which is conducted by the magnets in place which does not allow them to go out by mistake. The buds have a traditional round shape facility with rubber tips at one end and stems downwards. The only swallowing is that due to their smooth round shape, when I get them out of the case, the buds get out of my fingers. This may be a case of butterfingers, but it happened to me more than once, and once I spent a worrying few minutes, trying to find an earbud that slipped on an airplane seat. So, just to take care of something. The package contains a small charging cable and separate -sized rubber tips to help get the best fit in the package.

Speaking, fit is quite comfortable. The buds are light and can be worn for a long time without any hassle. They also pass the shake test, as the head shaking strongly fails to dislike them with the ears, and therefore, should do a good job to run and work outside in the gym. They are IP54 rated, meaning that sweat and light rain should not make any issue.

Facilities and apps

JBL Tune Beam 2 07
JBL Tune Beam 2 uses Bluetooth 5.3, supports SBC and AAC code, and provides a bunch of easy features such as Google Fast pair, spatial audio, multi-point audio, adaptive noise cancellation, environment awareness and toothrough mode. Ambient Aware, as the name suggests, refers to the transparency mode, while the Tothru allows the user to interact with other people around them without removing the buds. A feature called Personi-Fi 3.0 is asked to tune and personalize the audio to suit the user.
JBL Tune Beam 2 app3
The JBL headphone app is available on both Android and iOS, which is one of the main attractions of overall user experience providing these buds. Not only is it neatly excluded, this level of adaptation is quite unmatched. In addition to being able to see the level of the remaining battery in each earbud and case, switch sound mode, adapt the gesture control, update the firmware, etc., a lot of other options are available. You can use options such as Person-Fi and spatial audio, adjust ANC levels, transparency and voiceways through mode sliders, and can change the language for voice that provide buds. Not only this, you can choose between smart audio and video mode, adapt to the music for music and improve lip sinks for video respectively.

JBL Tune Beam 2 app
To make the audio tweet, you get a bunch of EQ preset, and also have the option to make your own. You can also adjust the sound balance between the left and right earbuds and turn on the maximum volume limit. For calls, you can adjust the voice of the person’s voice at the other end, and also determine how your voice seems to them. Not to stop there, JBL has also integrated the options such as my earbuds and various power-saved modes that help to prolong battery life.
JBL Tune Beam 2 app2
Another really good option in the app is the label relax mode, using which you can hear cool sounds, which are closed after a specified period of time. Available options include waves, forest, fire, chirping birds and lapping water sound, and you can also make your own personal mixture using a combination of these options. Very nifty really.

Audio Quality and ANC

JBL Tune Beam 2 08
JBL Tune Beam 2 10 mm uses dynamic drivers and provides great sound for their price. The high levels of customicability through the fellow app and various sound tuning options at your disposal means that these buds are well suited for different styles. The default studio EQ mode provides good bass, but it does not overwhelm or otherwise sounds nervous, and you always have the option to choose bass or even extreme bass eQ mode if you want more tamping. Overall, the sound is well balanced, with sufficient expansion and isolation to please most listeners. ANC, while not flagship-grade, is also very good. Tune Beam 2 is capable of taking out a lot of environmental noise. Again, with the adaptation option available, you can make ANC tweeter as per your choice. The quality of the call is quite good, and again, the adaptation options help. Local mode did not do much for me, but looking at everything else, I do not complain.

battery life

JBL Tune Beam 2 ANC promises 10 hours of battery life, as well as one and 30 hours through charging case. With ANC closure, it increases to 12 hours and another 36 hours through the case. In my mixed use, I think I got about 11 hours or comfortable, so the battery lives for life claims. There is no wireless charging, but thanks to fast charging, a 15 -minute charge helps to give music playback for 4 hours. Full fee takes a few hours.

Decision

JBL Tune Beam 2 11
To ask a price of Rs 5,499, JBL Tune Beam 2 ticks most boxes. While distributing most aspects, the buds score high in terms of audio quality, ANC, battery life and features. As far as I am concerned, the piles of the options included in the app are added a lot to the overall experience and stand between the sea of options available to these TWS buds. Talking about, if you are a low -priced option, in which you are interested, the new CMF Buds 2 (review), priced at Rs 2,699, and Realme Buds Air 7 (review), priced at Rs 3,299, may be worth considering. But if you can be slightly more than 5K rupees, the JBL Tune Beam 2 is well checked.

Editor’s rating: 8/10

Professionals:

  • Good sound quality and ANC
  • Personalization option
  • Useful app
  • Good battery life

Shortcoming:

  • There is a decrease in in-age detection
  • Sloping buds
