LG Ultragier 32GS60QC winding gaming monitor review: Emarsiv Gaming Experience!

If you are looking for a gaming monitor less than Rs 20,000, then you have deteriorated to the choice. Many of these monitors refresh rates in the north of a QHD resolution, 165Hz, and support for HDR (which is not great in most cases). Today, we have a 1440p HDR monitor with LG Ultragier 32GS60QC, 180Hz refresh rate. It is also a curved gaming monitor with a 1000r curve. Is it a qualified contender to avoid the competition?
Major specifications at a glance
Performance Size –32 inches
Performance Resolution – 2560x1440p
Fresh rate – 180Hz
Panel type – VA
Claimed – 300 knots
Connectivity –2 x HDMI 2.0 port, 1 x display 1.4, 1 x 3.5 mm audio port
height adjustment: No
Tilt adjustment: Yes
Building audio- No
Setup and design
Monitor is equally easy to install as any other monitor installed in the past with a small difference. While most of the other monitor will have a single screw holding the stand (can be installed without a screwdriver and removed), this monitor has four screws that you need to install with a screwdriver – to catch the neck in two places and two for the base. The base and neck of the monitor is very strong, and the monitor can be bent, but there is no height adjustment for it. I wish Monitor’s height was a bit higher for my desk, but it is very subjective for your gaming setup.
The monitor has a lot of slim bezels on all sides except below, which has ultragier branding. Under the branding, we have the standard single-button joystick that is used to turn/off the monitor and navigate the settings. It is easy to use. There are connectivity options and power port back-facing behind the monitor. If you want, you can offer the monitor to the wall.
Considering the curve and 32 -inch size, the monitor looks quite commanding on the desk in a good way. In addition, 1000R curvature makes the ideal to use multiple windows when using monitors for productivity, and you feel nothing less than an operator from matrix.
HDR performance
The monitor has a VA panel, the peak of 300 knots and no dimming zone. This means that HDR experience on monitor is average. I played the south at midnight on Xbox Series X, and the title screen is a beautiful house with the sun (with bright highlights) of the house in the screen. In HDR, you lose some details of the house, while in SDR, the house is clearly visible. This is a great example to tell you that while gaming in HDR starts good at the beginning, you lose on some specular highlights. So I would advise you to play the game in both HDR and SDR before sticking to a format, as your mileage will be in touch with HDR and will be different based on the title. To give you an example at the other end of the spectrum, Marvel’s Spider Man 2 PS5 looked good in HDR, with blues and reds in Spider-Man’s suit and rich looking environment.
Audio
The monitor does not have a built-in speakers, which can be a deal-breaker for something. However, given the average quality of most monitor speakers (normally), this is not a huge loss. If you are using a monitor for a console or PC gaming, I recommend connecting it with a good set of 2.1 speakers or headphones. Fortunately, 32GS60QC has a 3.5 mm audio output, making it easier to add external speakers or headphones.
Display
Let’s break the performance into four sections: PC gaming, console gaming, content consumption and productivity
PC gaming
For PC Gaming, I hook the monitor for Dell Alienware X16 R2, whose glasses and reviews you can see HereOn PC, I played something Baldur’s Gate 3, Frostpank 2, BaltroAnd some Indiana Jones. All games look amazing, and thanks to Nvidia Gafors RTX 4090 in alienware, I can enjoy all the glory of rand tracing on the monitor with acceptable frame rates. While I used DLSS to upscale the game, experience on the monitor was sublime.
While playing Frostpank 2, I felt completely submerged, thanks to the curved monitor, and flourishing your city in white snow, it was nothing short of looking at the earth from the space (I think it seems how it feels). It helps in zoom in the city and immersion in the monitor curve. The curved monitor experience cannot be for all, and I also prefer a flat display. But once you sit in the sweet place and let this curved monitor tangle, you will give it to immersion.
The same effect translates to Baulders Gate 3. There is a rich wide world in the game and I found it easy to drown myself in the world.
The same can be said for e-sport experience. While most e-sports players would like an IPS panel, I found that I am very fine (I am an amateur e-sport player)
Console gaming
I tilted my PS5 and Xbox Series X for monitor for console gaming. The monitor comes only with the HDMI 2.0 port, so we cannot expect to avail the HDMI 2.1 features offered on the console. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, you can leave the resolution at 1440p or 1080p in settings for 120 Hz refresh rates in supported games. I mostly placed a resolution in 4K and found a supersamplet 1440p, but you can leave the resolution up to 1440p in such games. ApocalypseWhich can offer a lock 120Hz refresh rate on the console, if you want.
I played games like Marvel’s Spider Man 2, Dirt 5, Astro botAnd Shafts and Clans On the monitor, and it all works very well. The image with reds and blues in Spider-Man’s suit was very good and looked alive. It is in both HDR and SDR, with the biggest difference in the loss of expansion in highly bright highlights. Up to Grand Tourisms 7I played a music rally race in the night settings, and there were scenes in the game that became popped. The shafts and cluans have some fast-transactions, and the reaction was butter-chicken on the monitor.
Moving on the Xbox, Doom Eternal has 1440p 120Hz mode, and the game is a sublime experience. The ORI and WISPS have a stunning game to test the display, and Visual did not disappoint here. The cherry on the cake was that it was render at 6K at 6K, which was at 1440p on the display at 60fps, or you can play the game at 1440p at 120Hz. The VA panel looks deep in the ORI, and the overall immersion with the monitor curve is really immersive.
Material consumption
I played a standard sleeve of materials including TV shows and films on monitor, and the experience was surprisingly good. I only tickled the brightness and black level on the monitor and used Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and Apple TV on PS5 as my content source. Consume tv show Young Sheldon It was good, and even some HDR films on Apple TV or Netflix looked good. You can see a change in overall color tones, glow and saturation when switching between HDR and SDR on the monitor, so once again, I recommend consuming a little material before sticking to a format.
Productivity
Productivity is the place where the monitor’s curve actually attachs you. I had a bunch of windows on MS Word in one corner and was working, a bunch of table in the other, social media in one third and my YouTube music playlist in the 4th was very easy to use. The curve also made the monitor feel big. Make sure that the one of the monitor you sits very close to the document will see the slight pixels in the text when the full screen is full, but is almost sitting. 2.5 feet away, I had no problem in gaming or working on this monitor and enjoying crisp experience. A good thing is that browsing any material horizontally gives you a floating icon experience, which you will get with VR headset, again, thanks to the screen curve.
Decision
There are lots of monitors available in the price point of sub -20, especially if you are a gamer. LG 32GS60QC has what is happening for this, this is a good immersive experience, thanks to 1000r curvature, great panel performance for gaming and non-gaming applications, a good selection of ports, and a very good construction. While HDR performance is a hit or miss depending on the content you have seen, the overall performance of the panel is quite good considering LG’s legacy with the display. I wish there was some height adjustment in the monitor. This will make the package round on the proposal. But whatever is, with him, this is a good deal. Hardcore e-Sports enthusiasts still want to consider an IPS panel, but the VA panel on offer gives a rich cinematic gaming experience. While the monitor is ideal for personal use, thanks to its curved design, it works well when I need to show some material to someone on the screen. But do not expect that the monitor would have an entertainment performance for a group of people, as the curve limits good visibility from the off-axis viewing angle. Overall, it is a good bang-for-the-bake monitor.
Editor’s rating – 8.8/10
