To make Pixel devices more accessible to Indians and to ensure better availability, Google has launched its official online store in the country. We asked Mitul Shah, Managing Director, tools and services, Google India, and asked him about the strategy, the kind of experiences that the potential buyers are going to the online store, and can do much.
What has been your own strategy for pixel devices so far in India? What is the idea process behind opening direct purchases at India Google Store?
Our strategy for pixels in India has always focused on empowering consumers to fulfill their developed aspirations by putting Google’s best AI in their hands. Over the years, it includes bringing our entire pixel portfolio to Indian users-from our A-series phones to our leading Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro folds, Pixel Buds Pro 2 and more. We are constantly strengthening our foundations in India, through our sometimes offline retail appearance, and develop after sales.
Launching direct online shopping from India Google Store is mainly operated by the dynamic and developed Indian smartphone market. Throughout India, people are expecting rapid refinement, digitally native, and are looking for more competent and convenient-rich equipment with advanced AI and integrated experiences. They have more alternatives, more convenience and clear access to the latest innovations. India’s ability to buy from Google Store is a direct response to these demands, which empowers users to attach the unique AI-operated experiences of Pixel and to attach directly with our full product portfolio.
This direct channel is an important step in our strategy for Pixel in India, designed to complement and increase our existing strong networks of retail partners, including long online collaboration with Flipkart and our sometimes expanded physical retail footprints. We are committed to multi-channel approaches, making the pixel accessible through various touchpoints that provide more options and convenience to people. Google Store enhances this strategy by offering a reliable, direct route to Pixel products. In parallel, we are focusing on increasing strength through options such as immediate cashback, no-cost EMI and exchange bonus.
To support our growing Pixel community, it is an important priority to ensure strong customer aid. In addition to many service centers, which provide post-kharid support, we have expanded our same-day repair capabilities in 20 service centers across India, including three existing Google exclusive service centers.
What can users expect when they buy from Google Store? In addition to purchasing pixel devices, what else can a potential buyers do at the online store?
We have created a unique experience for India given the needs of unique users and ecosystems. At the Google Store in India, people can choose from many payment modes including UPI and avail various proposals, including:
- No cost EMI: Pay for shopping over time with no-cost EMI through HDFC Bank and 15+ select banks.
- Instant Cashback: When you pay through EMI using a credit card, get immediate cashback, which is selected with HDFC Bank Credit Card.
- Exchange Bonus: Exchange your old smartphone to get a special exchange bonus. The existing pixel user can enjoy additional offers or discounts on upgrading your device through exchange programs.
- Store Credit: Get Store Credit that can be used to pay for your future purchase at Google Store.
What will happen next? Can we expect that Google -owned physical stores will soon open in India? And when we can expect more pixel devices like tablets, streamers etc. to make our way on our shores?
Our focus is to make the unique AI-operated experiences of Pixel more accessible to people across India. Direct online purchase from Google Store in India, our already strong retail appearance – both online and in physical stores, with our partners – all like – all the purpose is to meet and meet our users.
