OnePlus Ace 5 series officially confirmed, may launch soon

After several leaks and reports, OnePlus has officially confirmed that the marketing name of its next Ace-series phone will indeed be oneplus ace 5This has been confirmed through a post on Weibo by the company’s China President Lee Ji Lewis. The executive has also indicated improvement in performance.

OnePlus Ace is the premium segment of the brand that sits below the flagships of the OnePlus numbered series. The phones offer premium performance and design.

OnePlus Ace 5 series is coming

• In Weibo post, top OnePlus executive says ‘oneplus ace 5 series‘, which means there will be multiple models in the lineup like last time.
• For reference, the OnePlus Ace 3 consisted of the OnePlus Ace 3, OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, and OnePlus Ace 3v.

• Furthermore, the executive also hints at performance improvements compared to the previous generation models. He says, “The engineering team showed the performance test data, and the results are very exciting and it can almost be said that this is a performance generation ahead of products in the same category.”
• Although the executive hasn’t shared any specific launch timeline at the moment, the leak claims that the OnePlus Ace 5 series will launch in China in December.
• For context, the OnePlus Ace 3 launched in China in January this year, while the Pro arrived in June. It appears that the company has changed plans for the successors.
• We’ve recently heard rumors that the company is also working on a smaller-screen flagship in the Ace series, but it’s expected to arrive in Q2 2025.

OnePlus Ace 5 series: What we know so far

The OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro are tipped to feature a back panel design that is similar to the OnePlus 13. This means they should simply have a large circular module to house the camera sensor. The phone may have a metal mid frame and possibly a ceramic rear panel.

• Display: OnePlus Ace 5 may have a 1.5K BOE flat display, while the Pro model may get a BOE X2 display. The screen size of the phone could be 6.78-inch like its predecessor.

The standard models of the OnePlus Ace series are usually rebranded as OnePlus R-series phones in global models including India. There is speculation that the OnePlus Ace 5 may launch as the OnePlus 13R and come as a follow-up to the OnePlus 12R. However, the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro may be limited to the China market.
