OnePlus is rolling out OxygenOS 15, the stable version of its latest operating system (OS) update for OnePlus Open in India, the company announced on Sunday. Based on Android 15, the update introduces visual enhancements with Flux Themes and improved animations in the user interface (UI). OnePlus detailed the features coming as part of the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 update for OnePlus Open in a blog. PostThe update is already rolling out in batches to users in India and will be available in North America (NA), Europe (EU) and Global (GLO) regions from next week.
According to the company, OxygenOS 15 brings visual changes to the entire UI. It introduces new Flux themes with one-take transition animations that can be customized with the system wallpaper or personalized with photos. There are also customization options for the home and lock screens and always-on display, with the latter supporting both Flux and Classic modes. The company says users can change the lock screen with customization options like clock color blending, glass texture, blurred wallpaper, AI depth effect, and AI auto-fill.
Live Alerts have been updated and the feature is now centered. Users can now tap on an alert capsule that opens a detailed card. It has also been updated with a new design and animation system.
A big part of the OxygenOS 15 update for OnePlus Open is the series of proposed AI features. The company says it includes an AI writing suite that can be used to polish and optimize content. There is another additional format, which can organize scattered information into a proper structure. Meanwhile, OnePlus’ Clean Up feature claims to remove filler words from voice notes to make it more consistent while maintaining the original audio.
The update also includes AI tools related to photo editing. According to OnePlus, users can enhance cropped or low-resolution images with the new Clarity feature or use AI Reflection Eraser to improve sharpness, color accuracy and lighting in blurry images. It also has a Remove Reflection feature that is claimed to remove reflections from glass surfaces.
OnePlus Open users can also take advantage of the new globally reversible photo editing capability that saves previous editing settings for later edits. Additionally, the company has also increased the duration of Live Photos to three seconds and improved the integration between the camera and filters, allowing users to change or remove filters later.
The OxygenOS 15 update is said to improve multi-app switching thanks to the parallel processing architecture. It adds parallel animations for widgets, components, and folders, while also bringing system-level swiping curve coverage to web-view interfaces and other third-party apps. With the latest Android 15-based update, more gestures have been added to the floating window, like swiping down to open the status window or swiping to the side to hide it.
The company says that with the OnePlus Share app, users can easily transfer files, including Live Photos, between OnePlus and iOS devices. Other features of the update include special OxygenOS app icons, a battery safety reminder, customized home screen widgets, a new Easter egg in the Calculator app, and a new split mode for the notification drawer.
