In simple terms, this allows for larger battery capacity without significantly increasing the weight or size of the device, marking a change in industry trends. The Find Oppo has included the new battery without slowing down the charging speed – 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Does larger size guarantee longer backups? We compared its battery performance with that of the Pixel 9 Pro (Review). Let’s see how both perform.
pcmark battery
PCMark’s battery test provides a good insight into smartphone battery performance under ideal conditions. At the beginning of the test, we made sure that the Oppo Find X8 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro had 100 percent battery. We also maintained the same brightness and audio levels for fair competition.
The round ended with the Oppo Find X8 Pro surviving for 12 hours and 14 minutes. The PCMark app automatically stops the battery test as soon as the battery level drops to 20 percent. The Pixel 9 Pro test, on the other hand, lasted 11 hours and 54 minutes.
real world context: In daily use, the Find X8 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro deliver reliable battery life. However, the earlier larger battery provided better backup in power-saving mode.

We played a 30-minute long YouTube video at the same resolution on both smartphones. We also ensured uniform brightness and audio levels.

In our charging test, the Find X8 Pro took 49 minutes to go from 20 to 100 percent with the bundled charger. The Pixel 9 Pro took 76 minutes to get to 100 percent battery with a Motorola PD charge.
Real World Context: The Find X8 Pro delivers respectable charging times even without rapid charging mode enabled. The Pixel 9 Pro offers an adaptive charging mode just to maintain the health of the battery. Both phones also offer wireless charging support, which we couldn’t test.

Based on our tests, the Find X8 Pro offers significantly better battery backup while gaming or watching videos. However, both phones stood side by side in the PCMark battery test.
But if fast charging matters to you, the Find X8 Pro is a more reliable companion.
