As expected, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K80 series in China. The K80 and K80 Pro arrive as successors to last year’s K70 and K70 Pro respectively. Both the phones are equipped with significant upgrades compared to their predecessors. The Pro model is the more premium offering of both devices. The latest devices also come with flagship Snapdragon chipsets. The K80 Duo mainly differs in the chipset, battery and camera department. Read on to know everything below.
Redmi K80, K80 Pro price and availability
- The Redmi K80 and K80 Pro are offered in multiple RAM and storage configurations ranging from 16GB to 1TB.
- The price of the base variant of the K80 starts at CNY 2,499 (~$345).
- Meanwhile, the K80 Pro has a starting price of CNY 3,699 (~$511).
- Both phones come in Snow Rock White, Mountain Green and Mysterious Night Black colours, with the vanilla model also getting an additional Twilight Moon Blue option.

Redmi K80, K80 Pro specifications
- Display:The Redmi K80 and 80 Pro have the same AMOLED display measuring 6.67-inches and having a resolution of 2K. Both phones have a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
- Processor:The Standard and Pro models are powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets respectively.
- Battery:The K80 packs a 6,550mAh cell with 90W charging support. The K80 Pro, on the other hand, is powered by a smaller 6,000mAh unit but the charging speed maxes out at 120W and it also has 50W wireless charging.
- Camera:The K80 Duo has the same 50MP Sony LYT-800 main camera with OIS. The standard model has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor while the Pro has a 32MP snapper. The K80 Pro comes with a 50MP OIS-enabled telephoto lens with a floating mechanism. Both phones have a 20MP selfie snapper on the front.
- Other: Other features of the Redmi K80 Duo include HyperOS 2.0, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, 8K video recording, and IP68+69 certification.
Redmi K80 series: what’s new?
Compared to the Redmi K70 series, the K80 and K80 Pro come with a new design. The phone has a circular camera island and a flat frame on the back panel. They also have stronger durability than their predecessors. The latest offerings have seen increased front cameras and battery capacity. The chipset is another obvious upgrade over the Redmi K80 Duo. The smartphones also come with Xiaomi’s AISP imaging algorithm.
