Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 is an octa-core processor developed on Samsung’s 4nm architecture. The chip includes two Cortex-A78 performance cores running at a 2GHz clock speed and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at a 1.8GHz frequency. The main thing though is that Qualcomm brings 5G capability to entry-level phones with this chip. The chip maker has partnered with Redmi for the first Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 phone with the promise of “5G for every Indian”. We will get into the details of this claim below. But, to do that, we need to understand the specifications of the chip and the performance shown by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 AnTuTu score and other benchmark scores. Let’s start with these statistics.
We have mentioned Redmi A4 5G benchmark tests for this article. This is the first phone with this chip.
Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 AnTuTu Score
AnTuTu benchmark measures the performance of a phone based on some synthetic tests. The benchmark details scores across various aspects such as CPU, GPU, memory, and UX. The average of all these scores is called AnTuTu score.
factors | Score |
Overall AnTuTu Score | 3,81,047 |
CPU | 1,24,211 |
gpu | 42,319 |
Memory | 1,12,546 |
ux | 1,01,971 |
Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 Geekbench Score
Geekbench tests CPU and GPU performance. For this purpose it simulates real-world smartphone functions. Here, specifically, we will consider its CPU performance scores in both single-core and multi-core tests.
tests | Score |
single core | 840 |
multi core | 1,963 |
Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 PCMark Score
PCMark benchmarks chip performance by simulating real-world Office apps. We have run the test for 10-15 minutes.
tests | Score |
pcmark performance | 8,609 |
pcmark battery test | 16 hours 28 minutes |
GFXBench simulates high-end graphics games and the resulting FPS score is an indication of how phones with this chip will handle games. The Redmi A4 couldn’t run this app in our testing.
Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 Burnout Score
Burnout tells you how a phone performs when it’s pushed and throttled to its limits. This shows how stable the phone will run in extreme conditions.
burnout benchmark | Result |
performance under throttling | 53.1 percent |
Since this is an entry-level phone, it’s fine to get about 50 percent performance under throttling.
(The higher the score, the better the stability of the chipset over the long term.)
Note:- Burnout benchmark results may vary for other phones with Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 as different phones have different software optimizations and cooling mechanisms.
