WhatsApp will soon let its users share their ‘status updates’ directly as Stories on Instagram and Facebook. While the ability to share WhatsApp status updates as Stories on Instagram and Facebook has been available for some time now, the feature required users to share individual posts on each platform. But that will change when Meta introduces Account Center support for WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is getting Account Center support

  • Now, almost four years later, the company is planning to bring Account Center support to WhatsApp. With Account Center integration, users will be able to re-share updates from their WhatsApp Status directly to Facebook and Instagram Stories.
  • Additionally, WhatsApp users will be able to log into their WhatsApp accounts with ‘single sign-on’ and control certain account settings such as birthdays and the ability to add or remove accounts centrally.
  • Meta, in its details blogwrote that over time it will introduce support for more features such as the ability Manage avatar, meta AI stickers and users’ Imagine Me creations within Account Center.
  • The company also said that adding WhatsApp to Account Center is optional and the feature will be turned off by default.
  • Additionally, Meta said that despite the Account Center integration, WhatsApp will continue to offer end-to-end encryption for calls and messages on its platform.

WhatsApp Account Center Support Availability

As far as availability is concerned, Meta has rolled out Account Center support for WhatsApp globally. In a few weeks it will be available to all WhatsApp users.

When available, users will be able to access the Account Center in WhatsApp by going to Account Center in WhatsApp Settings.

Share WhatsApp status on Facebook, Instagram

As mentioned earlier, WhatsApp users can share status updates as Stories on Facebook and Instagram separately. Here’s how to use this functionality:

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and tap on the Updates tab.

Step 2: Create a status update.

Step 3: Once the status update is shared, open the post on WhatsApp.

Step 4: Tap the three dots next to the status update you want to share.

Step 5: Tap on the Share option and then select the app (Facebook or Instagram) where you want to share the post.
