Samsung launched its first foldable phone in 2019 and its first flip phone in 2020. Since then it has been releasing successors to both these devices. However, no radical changes have been made in these smartphones. However, Samsung is set to expand its foldable range this year, which will also include its tri-fold phone (triple-folding). It will also release the seventh generation of Z Fold and Z Flip devices along with a fan edition of the Z Flip. Here’s everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone.
Samsung foldables 2025: Tri-Fold and Z Flip FE
- According to a video from the Korean publication electionCompared to its regular two foldables in previous years, Samsung will launch four foldable smartphones this year.
- This will likely include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, a Z Flip FE, and a triple-folding phone.

- Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy FE lineup is usually a slightly lower (specification) version of the flagship Galaxy devices which helps bring down the price and make the device more affordable. If Samsung releases the Galaxy Z Flip FE, it could help make foldables mainstream as lower prices would make these devices accessible to the masses.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 specs (expected)
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be thinner than its predecessor and even the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition which is just 10.6 mm thick. The company could achieve this by omitting the S-Pen digitizer as they did with the above special edition.
